I took this picture on Tuesday evening while returning to Oriental from near Harker's Island, NC.
The 5:45 PM ferry from Cherry Point to Minnesott Beach is a little too late to catch the sunset these days, but I was treated to this magnificent twilight sky during the crossing.HAPPY SWF EVERYONE!
I look forward to seeing the other Skywatch pictures from around the world on the other SWF sites listed at:

Amazing shot from the ferry, definately one of my favourite skywatch pics thus far this week, thanks for sharing.
Cheers!

What a great show to watch while on the ferry.
I'm jealous. Thats a beautiful sunset. I bet it was just nice watching it from the ferry. The colors are so bright.
Sensational bands of colour
What a gorgeous sunset. I love how the orange in the sky was so bright that it reflected off of the cars.
Glad you enjoyed the pic, Kallen, so I am sorry to have to disappoint:
The light on the cars actually comes from the ferry's own deck-lights, behind and above me as I am standing on the lounge deck taking the picture.
I was happy with the match, though... didn't quite look that way to the naked eye, but turned out so in the photo!
That's an incredible skyline: a rich orange light like that ... what's the saying: red sky at night, sailors delight. Does that qualify as a "red" sky?
What a spectacular sky! Excellent photo!
And a truly magnificent twilight it was too. The light that bathes all in such a glow, incredible and a great shot!
